The animal actually did not even look up when Sandra went into the room, even though she was nearly shouting the animal’s name and still shaking the treats around. It seemed dead set on sniffing and scratching the sink’s exit as its life depended on it… Sandra found this very strange, as Missy usually came running when she heard her name and the sound of treats. She had never seen her act like this before.
She tried to get her attention, but Missy was completely unresponsive. Sandra was starting to worry, but she decided to just let her be and wait for her to come around. After a few minutes, Missy finally stopped and looked up at Sandra. She seemed to be in a daze, not quite sure what was going on. Sandra was relieved to see her, but she couldn’t help but feel a little uneasy. She had never seen Missy act like this before. She was usually so excited to see her and eager for treats, but this time she seemed almost disinterested. She didn’t care for Sandra or the treats, which happened to be her favorite.
