Scout Starts Barking
Just as the two were about to delve into the basement, Scout suddenly started barking. Scout was usually a pretty calm dog, but at this moment, the hair on his back had been raised, and his ears were pointed back. James walked over to try to calm him down, but it was no use. Scout just kept barking, not towards the basement, but towards a seemingly random corner in the living room.
Eventually, James managed to get him to relax a bit, and he took him with him as he and Mandy prepared to take their flashlights and explore the basement.
