One of the more heartbreaking things to witness is when pets are abandoned and left to fend for themselves. Instead of taking unwanted pets to a shelter where they could find a loving home, some people choose to leave them in desolate places with little hope for survival. This was unfortunately the case for a mother dog and her puppy.
These two dogs were left alone in front of an apartment building overnight. Fortunately, their plight caught the attention of two compassionate girls who decided to intervene. They stayed with the dogs until rescuers could arrive and bring the animals to safety.

The rescue team found the mother dog, later named Grunya, shivering when they arrived. They immediately brought both dogs to a shelter, where they could finally receive the care they desperately needed. Once examined by veterinarians, it was revealed that the puppy, named Nyusha, was just three months old and severely malnourished.
Nyusha’s health was fragile and required her to be separated from Grunya for specialized treatment, including an intravenous tube to ensure she stayed hydrated. The vets faced challenges with Nyusha’s recovery, such as her inability to keep food down and a general lack of appetite, often linked to her ongoing metabolic issues. Despite these setbacks, the veterinary team remained committed to her recovery.
After a week of intensive care, Nyusha showed signs of improvement. She began wagging her tail, regained some strength, and could stand and move a bit, milestones that brought joy to the rescuers and veterinarians. Grunya also made a full recovery, and the day finally came when mother and daughter were reunified.
Not only did their health improve, but fortune smiled on Grunya and Nyusha as they found a new home together. Their story is a testament to the resilience of these animals and the incredible efforts of the rescuers who wouldn’t give up on them. This remarkable journey of survival and recovery highlights the power of kindness and the enduring bond between a mother and her puppy.
