Like the Basset Hound, the Beagle is a small dog with a BIG voice. They are known for their happy-go-lucky personalities, and they make excellent hunting dogs. Beagles are beloved family dogs, and they are the most popular hound dogs among American pet owners. Since they have a lot of energy, they can often lash out in negative behaviors if they are not kept busy. Although they are affectionate, they can often be hard-headed, which means training may take some patience.
