38. Danish-Swedish Farmdog

As you can probably tell by the name, these dogs were originally bred to work on farms and do other manual labor. However, these days they’re more like active companions to keep around the house. If you have a herd of animals, they can help with that. If not, that’s fine, too.

They’ll be more than happy to just go out to the dog park and run around with you, but a large backyard will also suit them well. That being said, if you don’t have a lot of open space for your dog, you shouldn’t get one of these.
