52. Central Asian Shepherd
This dog is so beloved in Turkmenistan that it has its own holiday! The Central Asian Shepherd is a gorgeous dog that, as the name suggests, originates from the Asian continent. It’s also known as the Alabay or the Turkmen Wolf-Hound.
You may not be able to tell from this photo but this is quite a huge dog. It is said to grow to an above average size and is consequently quite strong. These pooches are also said to be quite curious, independent, and courageous, which explains why they’re often kept as guard dogs.
51. Thai Ridgeback
This is another canine breed that traces its origins in the Asian continent. The Thai Ridgeback gets its name from its country of origin and its unique feature of having a ridge of hair that grows in the opposite direction on its back.
As you can tell from the photo, these dogs have a beautiful smooth coat. It just makes you want to run your hand all over the back. They are also quite intelligent and independent, seeing as they stayed away from human contact for quite a while before domestication.
