I couldn’t believe it
Jane was nervous about opening the note attached to her cat’s collar. There was an unsettling aura surrounding the whole situation, causing a shiver to run down her spine. What could possibly be written on that mysterious piece of paper?
A multitude of unsettling thoughts raced through her mind, fueling her anxiety. Perhaps it was just a simple complaint from a neighbor about Spike’s mischievous antics, but deep down, she couldn’t shake off the nagging feeling that there was something more sinister lurking within those words.
Unfortunately, her intuition turned out to be well-founded. As she cautiously unfolded the note, her heart pounded in her chest. The handwriting was unfamiliar, spidery, and seemed to crawl across the page.
It read: “Your curiosity has consequences. Watch your step.” The message was cryptic, yet carried a threatening undertone that made her blood run cold. Who could have sent such a message, and why? Jane looked around, suddenly aware of every shadow and rustling leaf in her once peaceful garden.
