Very few purebred Siberian cats exist outside of Russia, which makes it the breed that much rarer in North America and Europe. In other words, the cat costs $4,000 because the demand for them is through the roof. Siberian cats look a lot bigger than they are, but that’s mainly due to the size of their coats.

Due to the harsh landscape of their homeland for which they’ve been named, Siberian cats have coats of thick weatherproof fur. Combine that winter coat of theirs with the playfully affectionate personality and gentle demeanor that the Siberian cat is known to have, and they become the perfect playmate for cat-loving toddlers to grow up with.
