This rare breed of cat originated in France. A number of registries around the globe recognize the Chartreux as a breed, and, due to their rarity, the breed’s kittens tend to cost $1,000 to $1,500. They are large and strong, with fine-boned legs and oversized paws. Males can weigh up to fourteen pounds.
Chartreux cats are quite playful, even into their adult years. Some can even be taught “fetch,” the same way a dog cat. These cats are usually good with children and even other animals, as they are affectionate, non-aggressive, good travelers, and pretty healthy, overall. You can recognize one by its blue-gray coat and orange-gold eyes.
