This independent, vocal cat is a breed that originated in 1981. The Burmilla is made from a cross between the Burmese and Chinchilla Persian. Its standards were produced in the mid-1980s, and the breed won championship status in the U.K. in the 1990s. From a reputable breeder, you’ll pay $800-$1,200 for a Burmilla.

The reason the price is so high is that the Burmilla is somewhat rare, and it has a complex, four-generation breeding process. But, they’re worth it, as these cats are a lot of fun and love being part of the family. They’re a great companion, though, unfortunately, the Burmilla is not hypoallergenic.
