The European Burmese has Eastern origins, and it originated from the same source, Wong Mau, as the Burmese. The European Burmese, unlike the Burmese, has ten different colors, and the reason for these additional hues is the introduction of a red gene into the bloodline. It is disputed whether this gene’s introduction was accidental or deliberate.
The European Burmese is also less compact and rounded than the Burmese, and its eyes have a slightly-curved top line that slants towards the nose. This breed is, like its Burmese cousin, affectionate, loyal, and intelligent, and they love being around their family and even meeting new people.
