50. Chausie

Weight: 11-16 lbs
Lifespan: 15 Years
Average Price: $1,500-$10,000*

The Chausie was created by breeding jungle cats (Felis chaus) with a larger number of domestics (Felis catus). The International Cat Association recognized the Chausie as a domestic breed in 1995, though, within those breeds, it is categorized as a hybrid-source, non-domestic breed.

It is likely that the Chausie existed as far back as ancient Egypt, as that was when the first jungle-cat-domestic hybrids were discovered. Chausies are usually wild kittens, but they calm down as they reach adulthood (though they never lose their playfulness and curiosity). Chausies are super-loyal, easily forming deep bonds, so they often have adjustment issues if they are rehomed as adults.
