A Keepsake
Since they renovated the kitchen, Ben wanted to keep his grandmother’s old stove as a keepsake. He didn’t have the heart to throw the thing out since grandma loved it so much.

Mittens seemed to take a liking to the old stove herself and would sit for hours on end in front of it just staring at the oven. Ben could’ve sworn the cat was acting like his grandmother, she used to sit in front of it, watching as her bread was baking.
