Whenever you hear a cat purr, they sound like little motor engines working very hard. So, are they just making noises or is there a significant reason why they purr? There are actually two possible reasons behind this.

The first and most common explanation is that the cat is happy and contented. However, there are also rare cases that abnormal purring in your cat may mean that your pet is in pain. So, if your cat’s purring is out of the ordinary, it’s best to bring them to a vet.
