A cat choosing to sleep cuddled up on you is a great signal that you have a strong bond. Some cats sleep next to you to assert dominance or make sure you’re still protected. But even if a cat thinks that it is in charge (and, let’s be honest, they usually are), that doesn’t mean that it loves you any less. It just may mean it also feels the need to protect you more.

Then again, some cats just enjoy snuggling in with you with no agenda beyond simply enjoying the warmth.
