People often forget that our furry friends don’t just think of us as their owners; they see us as their everything—their closest companion and their rock. Dogs form emotional bonds with us and can feel very lonely or sad when left alone for too long. Sadly, being abandoned is even more heartbreaking for them.
In today’s story, a dog named Chance experienced this firsthand. Suzette Hall, the founder of Logan’s Legacy in Irvine, California, specializes in rescuing animals, and despite the countless times she has done so, each case impacts her deeply. When she learned of a dog left alone on a busy highway, she quickly sprang into action, realizing the urgent need to help.

Even though it was late at night, Hall teamed up with her friend Arturo to head to the site where the pup had been left. The situation was dire. The noisy highway frightened the dog, and according to a nearby homeless man, he had not moved from the spot as if waiting for his owner to return.
The rescuers knew they had to be cautious in their approach, as any sudden movements could scare the dog into running into traffic, risking serious harm. Hall expressed her gratitude for Arturo’s help, sharing on Facebook, “I honestly could not have done this rescue by myself. One wrong move, and he would have run into the oncoming traffic.”

To safely catch the pup, they devised a plan. With creativity and a bit of resourcefulness, they constructed a makeshift enclosure using a mattress, some boxes, and wood found nearby. Carefully, they guided the dog into this safe space. Even as the scared animal tried to flee, Arturo and Hall maintained their composure, ensuring that all exits were securely blocked.
After much effort, Hall finally managed to secure the dog with a snare. The relief they both felt at successfully capturing him without incident was immense. They quickly took the dog to a veterinary clinic, thrilled to be giving him a second chance at life.

Moved by the rescue, Hall chose the name “Chance” for the pup, stating, “This wasn’t easy, his life was in our hands, but we took a chance.” To help him settle into his new life, the vet staff treated Chance to a relaxing spa day, leaving him looking much happier and well-cared for.
The dedication of these two rescuers shines brilliantly in their effort to save Chance and give him hope for a bright future. Their compassion and persistence truly make a world of difference.
