Lucy, a dog who knows the pain of abandonment firsthand, was left by her owner tied on the side of a road. Though she had been let down, Lucy clung to the hope that there were still kind humans who would help her.

For five long days, Lucy waited, hungry and alone, hoping for someone to stop and offer assistance. Each time a person walked by, she lifted her front paws, silently pleading for help.
Then, a compassionate woman learned about Lucy’s plight. Moved by the dog’s situation, she decided to visit and hopefully provide a new home for Lucy.
Upon their first meeting, Lucy reached out with her paws, seemingly requesting the woman’s help with a hopeful expression. The woman’s warm smile reassured Lucy, and her heart filled with joy. Lucy instinctively knew this woman was not going to ignore her.
Gently, the woman caressed Lucy’s face, which welcomed the affection by closing her eyes and enjoying the moment. The chains that had held Lucy were removed, giving her newfound freedom. She couldn’t contain her excitement and bounced around joyfully.
Bowing her head, Lucy expressed gratitude to her rescuer, who then picked her up and carried her to the car. Lucy was all smiles and eagerly showered her foster mom with affectionate kisses as she sat in her lap. Despite having just met, their connection was instant and profound.
Lucy’s new foster mom was captivated by the sweet-natured dog and quickly grew fond of her. From here on out, Lucy will experience the happiness and love she has always deserved and will never face abandonment again.
