A 34-year-old woman was found dead in her Bucharest apartment in disturbing circumstances in Romania. Adriana Neagoe, a dog lover and owner of two pugs, had not responded to calls or messages for several days, prompting her family to check on her welfare. Police and firefighters were alerted and entered the apartment. But what they discovered inside her home shocked everyone present. According to The Sun , officials found Ms Neagoe’s lifeless, half-eaten body on the floor with her two pugs by her side.
Police revealed they came across the shocking scene alongside the person who had alerted them. It was clear the malnourished dogs had already begun eating Ms Neagoe’s corpse, the cops added, according to The Sun.
Although no apparent signs of violence were observed, an autopsy was performed on the body to determine the cause of death. Police are conducting an investigation. In the meantime, the two pugs have been taken to a shelter.
“Another angel has gone to heaven,” Neagoe’s sister Maria Alexandra said in a heartbreaking Facebook post confirming the death. “My beautiful sister Anda Sasha is no longer with us,” she added.
Meanwhile, Ms Neagoe’s friends and family also paid tribute to the 34-year-old. “I’m devastated! May God protect her and give her the strength to get through this. Please let me know if I can help in any way. My condolences,” wrote one user. “My deepest condolences! I’m in shock!” said another.
Ms Neagoe’s funeral will be held at a local chapel, her family said.
Meanwhile, in a similar incident, a woman who died alone in her home in Argentina in 2023 was found partially devoured by her dogs. According to Newsweek , the 67-year-old woman, identified as Ana Inés de Marotte, was suffering from Alzheimer’s before her death and was apparently estranged from her daughter.
Neighbours called authorities after noticing a foul odour emanating from the 67-year-old woman’s apartment. Upon arriving at the scene, police discovered the woman’s body lying on the floor alongside her four dogs.
Authorities confirmed that the woman’s pets had eaten part of her face and arms.
Recently, Lee Asher was on one of his rescue missions when he came across a dog named Carter. He was greeting new arrivals, dogs transported from animal shelters to his sanctuary and rescue center, The Asher House. Among those rescued was Carter. “I have never met a dog as unique as Carter in my life,” Asher said.
Carter is a Central Asian Shepherd Dog, also known as the Alabai or Turkmen Wolfhound. As you can see, Carter has made a strong impression on Lee, who is still getting to know the dog and its peculiar characteristics.

Traditionally a Turkey Livestock Guard Dog, Carter is known for his independence, strong will, and aloof attitude. As Lee mentions in the video, these dogs are best suited for experienced handlers. Carter is very laid back and playful with Lee, but Lee notes that Carter is not friendly with other staff members. “I’ve never seen a dog that’s so hard to build trust with,” he said, adding that the dog possesses a whole other level of strength and protectiveness.
