During the year 2020, a lady was going to one of these markets with her daughter, when they saw a little kitten.It was a Friday morning of a day during summer break.
The girl couldn’t resist the big eyes, and begged her mom to take him home with them after seeing him for the first time.
Mom wasn’t sure if she would be able to do that. It was not something she wanted to take on.
In spite of this, the seller informs her that cats are independent animals that do not require anything more than water and food.
An irresistible daughter
Eventually, her mom gave in and took him home.
As they didn’t know what to do, as soon as they got home they gave a call to a vet from a clinic near their place.
It was necessary to bottle feed the young kitten since he was separated from his mother prematurely.
Neither mom nor the little girl have ever bottle fed a cat before.
The vet instructed them.
He explained to them how to hold the cat in a specific position so that we would not choke on it.
How to take care of a kitten?
Additionally, despite the fact that some people know, the two women did not know that kittens are not self sufficient when it comes to taking care of their needs.
They are surprised when they hear this.
However, they were unable to comprehend exactly how the bathroom thing worked. They could not picture what the vet was saying and they absolutely didn’t want to do anything that would harm the cat.

A modern solution

It wasn’t long before the women began to care for the kitten.
However, they did not know that kittens need to be fed every 2-3 hours, so they fed them every 2-3 hours.
The mother of the girl was a lady who was probably in her forties or fifties. At the time of the adoption, her daughter was not even of teenage age.
A name for the new family member
They lived in a small village in the middle of nowhere in China. Beside a supermarket, a clinic for humans and a veterinary clinic there was not much in their city.
The kitten was one of the cutest things the girls has ever seen.
There was one thing that was missing.
A name!
They were told at the market that he was a male.
So the little girl decided to give him the name of “Kay”.
The first night
During the first night, the kitten cried non-stop.
The two women couldn’t understand why.
After all, they were told at the market that cats are the most independent animals out there. The only thing you have to do is give them food and water, and they are good to go. But Kay couldn’t seem to stop crying.
All night long the two women get up to feed him.
As they were both so tired, they totally forgot to take a video to send to the veterinarian. However, since they were tired, they did not need to do so. It was their idea and not a recommendation made by the veterinarian.
A lesson for life
In fact, by 7 a.m., the two women had already fed Kay four times with bottles.
In addition to being very stressed and tired, they were also very hungry.
Despite the fact that Kay technically belonged to the little girl, the mother decided to give her daughter some rest.
Her daughter was also learning what it means to take care of others. It was a lesson she would remember for the rest of her life. It was an experience which would help her grow as a person. But Kay could also have been a lifelong friend to her. After all, cats can live up to 20 years.
The first morning
So, while the daughter gets some rest, the mother decides to cook something for her to eat when she wakes up.
Kay had finally fallen asleep.
It was now time for the mother to rest.
Kay spent most of the day sleeping and eating, so the day went by pretty quickly. There were not too many dramas during the day.
However, it was only until the evening that the two women remembered about the video they were supposed to send.
In spite of this, it appeared that Kay was in good health. Due to the fact that they were taking care of him in such a way, they did not consider it necessary to tape anything.
The night, again.
It was again nighttime, and Kay was starting to be more active than during the day.
In spite of all this, the little girl has slept all day long and she has mastered the bottle feeding procedure as well. Thus, she offered herself as a companion for Kay should the need arise.
The mother goes to sleep, but does not prevent her daughter from bringing the cat into the bedroom, so if needed, she could hear the cat scream.
The night starts and Kay keeps crying.
A bond
At first, the little girl was very energetic.
However, after waking up a few times during the night, she quickly becomes exhausted because of her constant waking up.
Even so, she has already formed a bond with Kay.
So, she proceeded to feed him and assist him with his bathroom needs.
There is so much work to be done for a little girl.
However, it was worth the effort.
It seemed to her that the more she held him in her arms, the more she would love him.
As they live in a tiny apartment, the mother can hear the noises during the night as the apartment is so small.
A sweet wake up
Upon waking up in the morning, the mother found that her daughter was lying near the crate on the floor. It was cute to see but it also gave her many thoughts.
She lifted her up into the bed and made sure that she was comfortable.
During her sleep, the little girl murmurs, “How’s Kay?” – she asks in a whisper.
As Mom examines him, she can’t help but smile. He seemed to be sleeping like a baby. The mother informs her daughter that he is fine, and that she should take some rest.
