It can be easy to think your cat wants to sit on your lap to keep warm. Of course, this can be one of the reasons, but it’s not always the case. It turns out that sitting on people is one of the unusual ways that cats express their love. Cat behaviorist Marilyn Kreiger believes our feline friends crave a connection whenever they sit on our laps.
Marilyn says they will seek out their favorite people before curling up into their favorite position for the day. Petting your cat feels just like their mom grooming them from their days as a kitten, and sitting on someone’s lap means our cats can enjoy all the feels with someone they love the most.
