Small bites from your cat mean they’re trying to bond with you

The chances are many of us think biting is a bad thing. That might not always be the case when it comes to our cats. If they are gently nibbling your fingers, it could be your cat’s way of showing you how much they care. Although many people think cats like to keep to themselves, that’s not always the case. Many cats like to bond with their owners.

They will naturally mutually groom one another in the wild, so these gentle love bites are their way of trying to do the same thing. Be sure to watch, so it doesn’t turn into something more. The gentle nibbles shouldn’t break the skin. If your cat suddenly bites harder, it usually means they’re overstimulated or need space.
