Chelsea came home one day to find a matted stray cat sitting on her apartment’s stairwell asking for help. She immediately picked up the cat and brought him into her bathroom. “Otto” was starving and kept eating and eating. He then curled up in the litter box she left out. That’s where he felt most comfortable. He would only get out to eat and drink.
Chelsea said they tried to brush Otto’s fur but they ended up having to shave it off. After getting rid of the mats he was a lot more comfortable and began to venture out of his litter box.
After a vet visit and getting the all clear, Chelsea kept Otto in her bedroom until Otto could adjust quietly and her other cats grew used to their new canine sibling. Otto was friendly from day one but as soon as he was let out of the bedroom he really blossomed…and would become a real “couch cat.”
